Congratulations on completing your sanding job!!! Now it’s time to clean it up. In this article, I’ve explained how to clean your Random Orbit Sander. Though Random Orbit Sander doesn’t require frequent maintenance, keeping it clean immediately after the use will increase the life span of your device. Sanders can easily accumulate a lot of dust during sanding. Quite often the dust gets build up in the motor housing.
Cleaning a Random Orbit Sander
Step-by-Step Process.
- Unplug from Power Socket
Before cleaning the Sander make sure that you’ve unplugged the Sander from power socket. - Detach the Dust Bag
Carefully detach the dust bag from the Sander and clean it separately. - Clean it with a Piece of Cloth
First, clean the sander using a piece of cloth removing external dust particles. Run it through the entire sander and its cord. - Use an Air Compressor or Blower to Blow off the Dust
Blow off the dust from difficult to reach areas easily using compressed air. You may also use a strong vacuum cleaner Make sure that you are moving the compressor in different angle - Attach the Dust Bag
After cleaning the Dust Bag separately attach the dust bag back to the sander - Inspect the Cord
Make sure that you inspect entire cord carefully for any cuts and get them fix immediately to prevent any unwanted electrocution
